You've done the work. The therapy. The journaling. The morning routines. The courses about becoming your best self.
And yet something still feels slightly off, like you're always one more habit away from finally arriving.
What if you were never broken?
What if the exhaustion isn't from falling short but from the effort it takes to perform a version of yourself that was never really you?
WHERE
Goto Island, Nagasaki | Japan
Goto is a small archipelago off the coast of Nagasaki. Cobalt sea, volcanic coastline, quiet fishing towns, and wild camellia forests that keep blooming even when the weather turns.
But the deeper reason we chose it is not the scenery. It’s the lineage.
For centuries, Goto has been a place people went when they could no longer live a divided life. When the Edo-period persecutions began, Japan’s Hidden Christians - the Kakure Kirishitan - crossed the water and built communities here, holding their truth in plain sight by hiding it inside the everyday. Churches still stand on these islands now, not as tourist props, but as evidence: a life can be concealed, and still remain intact.
That’s the same arc we’re here for.
Most of us aren’t hiding from a government. We’re hiding from subtler forces like perfectionism, productivity, good-girl conditioning, the pressure to be palatable. Goto is the right container because it has always been a refuge for the unperformed self.
And then there is the tsubaki, the camellia flower. On Goto Island it’s more than a flower. It’s been used for generations to anoint women’s hair and skin with oil, and it became a quiet symbol of endurance and devotion in the Hidden Christian story.
It blooms in winter when nothing else does, even with snow, quietly insisting on its own radiance.
In Japan’s language of flowers, the tsubaki carries meanings like quiet tenderness and pride - a self-respect that doesn’t need to announce itself.
That’s the kind of resilience we’re here to embody.
Not to become, but to return. Return to yourself.
And Goto is where we take that journey.

HOW
6 Days Anchored by a
Simple yet Powerful Framework
The week is anchored to 4 Japanese concepts, not as themes to learn about, but as lived experiences to move through.
It’s designed in the Sachi way: less theory, more felt sense. Less “improvement.” More return.
The retreat is a collaboration between Sachi, Nomad Resort, and Goto City, which means you’re not dropped into a one-off experience. You’re welcomed into an island community that already knows how to host, hold, and care.
Jazmine, Founder of Sachi, guides the arc of the week and personally curates the experiences leading each practice alongside an all-women, Japan-based on-island team who support you day-by-day.
So you can stop managing, stop translating yourself, and finally soften.
Days 1~2
間
MA
The Intelligence of the Pause
The power of a real pause. Time where nothing is asked of you.
We arrive. We slow down. Morning dance movement on the beach. Calligraphy with a local sensei, where the white space matters as much as the ink. We connect with the island in its silence by visiting the fireflies, and watching the vast galaxy with zero air pollution. You begin to hear what's underneath the noise.

Days 2~3
ARINOMAMA
ありのまま
Just as you are
Telling the truth about how you actually are, without fixing it.
We walk the volcanic coastline and the wild camellia forests in the spirit of shinrin-yoku, forest bathing, with disposable cameras in hand. Your only invitation: find what is beautiful, exactly as it is. Photograph the moss-covered stone. The weathered fishing boat. No prompts. No analysis. Just your eye, the trail, and what calls to you. You'll create your own personal aroma blend, a scent anchor to support your journey. Movement workshop for practising embodiment. The first quiet conversations with the self-critic inside you.

Day 4~5
GO-EN
ご縁
Abundance in Interdependence & Connection
being held by people and place, instead of doing everything alone.
We visit a local farm and harvest with our own hands, then carry it back and grill it together over an open fire. We embody "Itadakimasu": we gratefully receive the life that came from the soil, the rain, the farmer's hands, and now it becomes us. The circle completes.
There will be an uthentic relating session, where we witness and be witnessed by each other without fixing, without advice, without judgment. Just presence. The same quality of attention we gave the land, we give each other.

Day 5~6
十人十色
JUUNIN-TOIRO
Ten People, ten colours
Your way of being is allowed, even if it doesn’t match anyone else’s
Once we reconnect with ourselves and feel in our bodies that it is safe to be seen, we shine the light on the beautifully unique parts of us. We create our very own reminder to anchor us back home (to ourselves) by crafting a piece of jewellery out of coral, which grows in abundance around the island.
We celebrate under open June skies, and before you leave, you write a letter to yourself, which will be sealed and mailed to you 90 days later, when you might like a little reminder our in the wild.

Our Intentional Choices
and why it matters.
Spotlighting the Sachi (Gifts) of the Island
Goto's coral has been forming in these waters for centuries, and the women of this island have been pressing camellia oil from its forests for just as long, using it to anoint their hair long before wellness became something you could buy. The food on your plate this week was grown on farms you'll visit by name. For over 250 years, the people of this island preserved what was truest about themselves under conditions that demanded they hide it (senpuku kirishitan). The camellia (tsubaki) bloomed around them through all of it.
We didn't bring a concept to a pretty location. The island was already living it.
Curation of Safe Spaces Where You Don't have to be Strong for Anyone Else
This retreat is women-only. Not as a rule, but as a recognition. Something shifts when every person in the room has navigated the specific weight of being a woman in the world. You don't have to explain it. You don't have to manage how you land. Every facilitator, every space, every moment of this week has been chosen with one question in mind: does this create the conditions for someone to finally exhale? You will have your own room. The onsen is there when you need to be alone with hot water and silence. The group is the container, not the obligation.
Inviting a Rhythm Supportive of Rejuvenation
We will be curating the schedule to be supportive of rest over productivity, allowing our bodies to remember that rest is not a threat, but in fact it's the safest place you can be within yourself. We hope that you will leave having remembered what it feels like to befriend your nervous system rather than being at odds with it.
Daily and weekly rhythms are being taken into consideration
OUR NEST
Colorit Goto Islands
An intentionally designed space branding itself as "A refreshing time & space to reconnect with your true self".
With crystal-clear blue seas and white sandy beaches stretching out before you, every room boasts an ocean-front location, including nutritious breakfasts made from locally sourced ingrediants on the island.
Jazmine has the ability to see you in your authentic self and talks to that instead of all your shoulds. I felt safe, completely confident that whatever I share is not only understood, but it's also okay. Not many people have that ability. I feel very privileged to have been in her space.

YOUR HOST
Jazmine Ross
Certified Coach
TEDx Speaker
Experienced Community Manager & Facilitator
Jazmine Ross grew up in rural Japan, British by blood, Japanese by upbringing. The only person in every room who was fully both, and fully neither. She spent years carrying that before she understood what it was. What she teaches now came directly from that, the lived experience of learning to stop performing and start returning. She is not on this retreat to guide you toward someone new. She is here because she knows the way back.
